Sofia Davis Obituary

Our Angel Baby
Our Sunflower
Sofia Rose, the light of our lives, passed away suddenly on 2/25/2023.
She is survived by her parents Samantha Komet and Nicholas Davis, her grandparents Donna and Richard Komet and Jill and Howard Davis, her uncles RJ and Jimmy Komet and Gordon and Avery Conner, and lots of loving great aunts, great uncles and great grandparents on both sides of her family.
Our Sofia was just about to be 5 months old. She had just become a little person; trying her first foods, watching her favorite shows, playing her drums and piano and interacting with her Mr. Cow toy. She smiled with her whole face, and even though she looked just like Nick, when she smiled she was Sami’s clone. She could hold her head up strong and loved to be held in the air, and when you brought her down close to you you were guaranteed one of her signature open mouth kisses and a snuggle.
Sofia hated to lean back; she wasn’t one of those babies who were comfortable laying down all the time. She was alert, focused, interested in everything, and when you held her, she would sit straight up on your lap, never wanting to miss a thing.
We recently figured out that she was a lefty.. she did everything with her left hand, just like her Dad. And in her last days, we found out she had so much rhythm and coordination, just like her Mom.
She loved lights and colors, music and animals, especially her puppy Bella, who almost never left her side.
She loved the Wheels on the Bus and her aquarium, and she was mesmerized by Fur Elise. By all measure, she was a brilliant little girl, obvious to all of us before 5 months of age.
But Sofia had so much more of a purpose beyond our amazement. She was the very embodiment of love. She brought families together on both sides of her life, taught us all unconditional love, and spread the kind of joy only a little girl like her ever could. She softened the hardest of us, brought siblings closer, and cemented the meaning of family for countless people who loved her.
She was magical. She was perfect. She was the love of our lives, and the meaning we all never knew we needed.
Sofia, you will always be the best thing that ever happened to us. You will live forever in our hearts because you made them whole.
Fly high our precious angel, our little one.
Until we meet again.
