Paul also made a good friendship at the State of NJ Department of Labor with a coworker Yomaira Mercado who he spoke of often.
Paul’s biggest love was his home, organic garden, painting, fishing and his Black Lab Princess. He would frequently say "who needs a wife when I have Princess."
In Paul’s earlier years Paul was an avid traveler. He traveled to Canada, California, Aruba, Hawaii, Los Vegas, Miami, St. Croix, St. Martin, St. Thomas, and Texas.
Paul was employed at the NJ Department of Labor as an Unemployment Insurance Clerk since 2011. Prior to that Paul was employed at Merrill Lynch and then Black Rock until the crash in the stock market in 2008. Paul was a 1989 graduate of Ewing High School and 1995 graduate of Rider College now Rider University with two degrees. A degree in Business Management and Finance.
I called Paul’s doctors to inform them of Paul’s sudden death their total shock was the first response. The second response was that what a wonderful person Paul was when he came into the office always polite, respectful, and sweet. When I spoke to his newly appointed Supervisor he told me that all Paul’s co-workers were in shock but everyone praised Paul and said what a wonderful man Paul was and that he was such a great worker. As a mother it made me feel good that out in the public no matter what secret internal troubles and issues Paul had he presented himself with dignity and respect. As a mother I now know I did a good job.
One of Paul’s proudest moments was the day he was baptized at Central a Christ Centered Church. He decided to rededicate his life to Christ.
On the last two days of his life Paul was extremely ill. The doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to save him. His one nurse Kim went as far as to call me the next day to see if I was okay. When Paul died his nurse, Dawn who worked so hard to save him, because she wanted him to live. She was as emotional as I and was crying and the doctor’s eyes showed so much pain. I cannot thank the medical staff at Capital Health, Hopewell enough for the tender and compassionate care that they gave to my son Paul, I will be forever grateful.
I know as a saved Christian, Paul is now home in Heaven. He is not living across the street any longer but looking down on us. Paul is now happy and out of pain and will live on for eternity with his family who were there to greet him. They along with Jesus will guide him. Until we meet again, your loving family. We will have a new empty chair at our table for you. Hugs, my son.
