Nicholas William Ballone, 93, of Columbus, NJ, entered into his eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Virtua Mount Holly Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Nicholas was born and raised in Trenton, NJ.
Nicholas had many jobs throughout his lifetime but none of which he was more proud of than Manco and Manco’s Pizza in Ocean City, NJ where he served in many roles including the pleasant, always smiling host and greeter on the Ocean City Boardwalk.
Nicholas was a 3rd degree member of the Knight’s of Columbus of Hamilton Township. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Jeopardy. But nothing compared to the love he shared for his family, as his favorite days of his life were those shared by the people that he loved. Those closest to Nicholas would describe him as a man who lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed every second doing it. He will be truly missed.
Nicholas was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Son of the late Gaetano and Anna (Mangioni) Ballone; beloved husband of 53 years to the late Victoria (Varra) Ballone; brother of the late Madeline Sprague; brother-in-law of the late Frank Manco, Anthony Gervasio and Joseph Varra.
Nicholas is survived by his two daughters, Margaret and husband Michael Pontoriero, and Maria Ballone and partner Robert Scheerer; three grandchildren, Michael Pontoriero and wife Jordyn, David Pontoriero, and Nicholas Pontoriero and fiancee Nicole Leip; two sisters-in-law, Carmella Gervasio and Catherine Manco; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
