Chester J. Schiaretti, born December 10, 1944 in Trenton, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024 at Southern Ocean Medical Center. He was preceded in death by parents Nicholas and Ann Schiaretti, nėe Coccia, his brother Robert Schiaretti, his sisters Elaine Narkun and Linda Cominski, his brother Dominick Schiaretti, and his beloved fiancé Sandy Price. He is survived by his brother Nicholas Schiaretti and his wife Barbara of California and his sister Olympia Chiacchio of Trenton.
He served proudly in the US Army where he was honorably discharged. An avid NY Yankees fan his entire life, he loved the Yankees so much that he named the family Yorkie ‘Jeter’. He worked 45 years at Congoleum and loved his job in the maintenance department up until his retirement in 2010. While at Congoleum, he was actively involved with the Union and fought diligently for his co-workers.
Chester always had space for any family members who needed a home and helped many family members over the years. His tough exterior hid the big soft-hearted man who would give you the shirt off his back. He was Uncle Chester to many nieces and nephews, and he will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Catholic prayer services will be held at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton, where he will be laid to rest next to his brother Dominick "Governor" Schiaretti.
