Boyd Robert South

Boyd Robert South of Hamilton passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at age 91 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ.  Born in Trenton in 1931, Boyd was a lifelong area resident. He worked for many years as an insurance inspector for various insurance companies including Allstate, and was proud to have served honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War. 

When he was younger, Boyd would shoot hoops in the evening, and spent many happy summer vacations with family at Disney World. When relatives visited, he enjoyed playing cards or watching the Denver Broncos. Family was important to Boyd, especially the time he spent with his beloved grandson, Alex. They took frequent trips to Boyd’s childhood home town of Keyport, NJ or could be found just down the street at Alexander Elementary School flying drones and shooting rockets, most of which eventually ended up on the roof of the school.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many, Boyd was the son of the late Boyd M. South and Mary (Tarr) South and brother of the late Elizabeth McCarty, Arthur South and Boyd M. South. He is survived by his loving wife Audrey (Bolz) South, his daughter Karen and husband Jeff Stark, a grandson Alex Stark, a sister-in-law, Joyce Bolz; nieces and nephews Kurt Bolz, Michael Jopko, Joseph and Charlie McCarty, Joann Banner, Barbara Mitchell and Katie Polny, as well as other family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 21 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Chuch, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Sq., NJ.  Family and friends may pay their respects that morning from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery immediately following the mass.  Please visit Boyd’s tribute page at www.brennacellinifuneralhomes.com
